And then there's the legendary, the imposing, the slightly terrifying (but mostly lovable) Stoick the Vast. He's the chief, the protector of Berk, and a bit of a grump with a heart of gold. This is a role for someone with gravitas.
My pick for Stoick? It has to be Brendan Gleeson. He's got that booming voice and that presence. He can be intimidating, but you also see the love for his son. He'd make Stoick feel truly larger than life. He'd be the perfect anchor for this story.

For Snotlout, I think Jack Dylan Grazer would be hilarious. He's got that energetic, slightly over-the-top delivery. He can play the character who thinks he's the coolest person in the room, but secretly isn't. He'd be perfect for Snotlout's constant bragging.
And then there are the twins, the ever-energetic and slightly unhinged Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston. They're a package deal of chaos. They need actors who can bounce off each other perfectly.
For the Ruffnut and Tuffnut duo, I have a wild idea: Noah Jupe and Millie Bobby Brown. Hear me out! They both have that amazing energy and can play characters who are a little bit wild. They could absolutely nail the sibling dynamic and all the nutty antics. They'd be a force of nature.
And who could forget the wise and gentle, if a bit eccentric, Gobber the Belch? He's Hiccup's mentor, the dragon trainer, and the heart of the village. He's got a big personality.
For Gobber, my heart belongs to Nick Offerman. He's got that gruff charm, that woodworking sensibility, and that perfect deadpan delivery. He'd make Gobber incredibly funny and endearing. He'd be the guy who could fix anything with a bit of wood and a stern word.
Of course, the biggest challenge is going to be Toothless. How do you translate that amazing CGI character into something real? They'll need incredible motion capture and a brilliant voice actor who can capture his loyalty and his playful growls. That's a secret they're keeping close, and I'm so curious to see who they pick.
