The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a powerful new space telescope that is set to launch in 2021. Developed by NASA with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the JWST will be the most powerful telescope ever created and will explore the universe from a vantage point 1 million miles from Earth. The JWST will be able to observe galaxies and stars in the far reaches of the universe and study the formation and evolution of the cosmos.

The JWST consists of a 6.5-meter mirror and several advanced scientific instruments.
